Siskiyou Stories - Afterglow and the Aftermath
On Friday September 13th at noon, come to the Siskiyou County Museum the Siskiyou Stories presentation will take us back to 1968. Come watch the award-winning 28 minute film Afterglow Unearthed that tells the tale of our local "almost famous" band.
Fort Jones resident Larry Alexander, like so many other teenaged college students in the late 1960s, formed a rock band with fellow Chico State students. Talented and ambitious, the group secured a recording contract, made an album, and then the band, like so many others, slipped into obscurity. Remarkably, 40 years later, everything changed.
Drummer Larry Alexander will present the film and also talk about how the band's "unearthing" has led to great things for Siskiyou County, such as a recording studio and a film coalition in Scott Valley.
