New Snow Plow Hits the Road in Siskiyou County
Siskiyou County Public Works has officially welcomed a new snow plow to its fleet— and it’s already hard at work! As of 4/16/25, the plow is on its way to Everett Memorial Highway and will begin removing snow upon arrival! This new plow will also be assisting with Castle Lake Road, where the gate is now open, though full plowing is still in progress.
This much-needed addition comes at a critical time, as Siskiyou County continues to see an especially heavy snow season. While this winter’s accumulation has posed challenges, it's also a welcome shift after several years of drought—an encouraging sign for local water supplies.
The County extends its thanks to the dedicated Public Works team, whose crews have worked tirelessly to keep roads accessible and safe despite the demanding conditions. Their efforts help ensure residents and visitors alike can continue to enjoy our landscapes while staying safe on the roads.
Stay tuned for more updates as plowing continues!
