District 2 - Ed Valenzuela
Biography:
Now beginning his fifth term as District 2 Supervisor, Ed Valenzuela looks forward to the new challenges ahead.
Ed was born and raised in the Bay Area; is the oldest of four sons. While working for AT&T, he secured a transfer to the beautiful city of Mt. Shasta and moved his family from Fortuna in 1998. He and his wife Barbara have two children, who both are graduates of Chico State University. After 32 years of service, Ed retired from AT&T in 2010 and dedicated his full-time to his job as County Supervisor.
His political career started when he was elected to Mt. Shasta City Council in 2000 and served eight years as City Councilman. In 2008, he was elected County Supervisor for District 2. Being fiscally responsible, while keeping vital services as well as supporting economic development, are his primary goals. He focuses on listening to his constituents; fact gathering from all parties involved and keeping an open mind while making decisions that are in the best interest of Siskiyou County.
Ed has served as a member of California State Association of Counties (CSAC) for 14 years. Within that time, he was elected by his rural peers to serve on the executive board where he subsequently served as President of CSAC in 2022. He enjoys being connected to Sacramento through CSAC where he can effectively represent his constituents.
