Biography:
Michael Kobseff has been a proud Siskiyou County resident since 1968, growing up in the historic lumber town of McCloud. His deep connection to the county’s communities and natural landscapes has shaped his decades of service.
Michael and his wife, Lynn, successfully owned and operated Michael’s Restaurant in Mount Shasta for 30 years. Starting the business as a way to raise their family, they built a long-lasting staple in the area.
First elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2006, Michael is now serving his 19th year representing District 3, which includes the City of Weed, Lake Shastina, Grenada, Big Springs, Gazelle, and parts of Mount Shasta northwest of Abrams Lake Road.
Michael strongly advocates for issues critical to Siskiyou County, including water rights, forest management, public safety, fire prevention, fisheries recovery, economic development, and maintaining the county’s agricultural production. His proactive leadership reflects his dedication to protecting the region’s natural resources and supporting its residents.
